Former Slipknot Drummer Jay Weinberg Teases Solo Record for 2025

Jay Weinberg, former Slipknot drummer and current member of Suicidal Tendencies, has revealed plans to release a solo record in 2025. The musician shared the news on social media while reflecting on his goals for the upcoming year.

A Long-Time Ambition

Weinberg announced that he’s revisiting songs he has been crafting since his early 20s, saying:

“One of my ambitions for 2025 is to record more music in the studio – starting with my own material I’ve been writing for quite a while. Some of which I’ve been working away at since my early 20s.”

He also shared a 2017 photo of a previous attempt to bring the material to life with a band during a break from touring. “It was awesome, and a great creative challenge,” he recalled.

Reviving Old Material

Recently inspired to revisit these songs, Weinberg picked up his guitar and has been refining the collection.

“It’s been a fulfilling experience, and I’ll tell you – I’m starting to like where these songs are headed. It feels good to finally set the intention of releasing some of this new music in the coming year.”

Balancing Touring and Studio Time

In addition to his solo work, Weinberg expressed excitement about supporting Metallica on tour with Suicidal Tendencies in 2025. He also emphasized his enthusiasm for significant time in the studio:

“I’m equally pumped to spend considerable time in the studio, especially working on this collection of songs. Stoked for you to hear them. When they’re ready, you’ll know.”

A New Chapter for Jay Weinberg

Fans can look forward to a new creative chapter from Weinberg, blending his history as a celebrated drummer with his vision as a solo artist.
