On New Year’s Eve, Christina Aguilera took to Instagram to address comments about her appearance while delivering an empowering message of self-acceptance.
Owning Her Narrative
In a video montage, Aguilera opened with screenshots of comments critiquing her looks before highlighting personal and professional milestones from 2024.
“This is a reminder to everyone that you are your OWN STORYTELLER in your OWN LIFE,” Aguilera captioned the post. “No one else can dictate who you are. No one deserves an explanation.”
She continued:
“Acceptance comes with accepting yourself first. And the difficult journey it takes sometimes to get there.”
A Year of Confidence
The “Beautiful” singer has championed self-love throughout the year. Speaking to Glamour in August, Aguilera shared:
“I have a maturity now where I just don’t give a f— about your opinion. I’m not going to take it on… Other people’s opinions of me are not my business.”
