Korn Is Writing New Music, But Don’t Expect It Soon

Korn fans, there’s good and bad news about the follow-up to 2022’s Requiem. According to guitarist Brian “Head” Welch, the band is actively working on new material, but it’s still in the early stages and far from finished. In a recent interview with the Everblack podcast, Head shared that while the band is happy with what they’ve written so far, the process is taking time.

What We Know About the New Album:

  • Writing Progress: Head revealed, “We’re very happy with what we’ve got, but it’s just gonna take a while.” He hinted at a release timeframe that could be as early as summer 2025 or as late as winter 2025.
  • Fieldy’s Participation Uncertain: Bassist Reginald “Fieldy” Arvizu‘s involvement remains unclear. Fieldy has been on hiatus from Korn, with Ra Díaz (formerly of Suicidal Tendencies) stepping in during live performances.

Korn’s 2025 Festival and Tour Plans:

While fans wait for the new album, Korn is set to deliver blistering performances at festivals and a special show with System of a Down at MetLife Stadium.

Upcoming Dates:

  • May 8: Sonic Temple Art & Music Festival – Columbus, OH
  • May 18: Welcome to Rockville – Daytona Beach, FL
  • June 3–25: European Festivals, including Sweden Rock, Rock am Ring, and Hellfest.
  • August 28: MetLife Stadium – East Rutherford, NJ (w/ System of a Down, Polyphia, & Wisp)

What’s Next?

While fans may need patience for Korn’s next record, their dynamic 2025 live schedule promises plenty of opportunities to see the band in action. Whether or not Fieldy returns to the studio, Korn’s creative fire and explosive performances remain stronger than ever.
